Muslim Men Without Beard and Women Without Hijab
Why is it that some Muslim men don't keep a beard and some Muslim women
don't wear hijab? Among other reasons, the social factor is a very
important one.
We always have the need to fit in. Some don't want to look like Muslims because the people they hang out with don't like Muslim look. They don't have the guts to stand out for the sake of Allah, because being a part of the gang is more important.
Some Muslims don't choose the Muslim look because they feel it is uncool. One has got to be cool, oh yeah!!!
I can't help asking, though... If suddenly the movers and shakers of the world decide that the Muslim look is SO COOOOOL, what will they do? They will grab the Muslim brand in no time. Because the whole idea is to fit in! To be cool!!!
We have to remember one thing though, on The Judgement Day, we will be on our own.
Hadith Qudsi 5:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (radhi Allahu anhu), who said that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Allah (glorified and exalted be He) said:
I am so self-sufficient that I am in no need of having an associate. Thus he who does an action for someone else's sake as well as Mine will have that action renounced by Me to him whom he associated with Me.
It was related by Muslim (also by Ibn Majah).
May Allah forgive us all and help us do things ONLY for His sake, and not because of the "what will people say" or "I don't feel like it" factor.
